The 68th edition of MBFWMadrid
OUR FAVORITE LOOKS SELECTION FROM#MBFWMadrid 2018
The 68th edition of MBFWMadrid starts with design and creation with a Spanish accent as protagonists. At this edition, the first in its history held in July, the event recorded an attendance of 40,870. 36,217 of attendees visited hall 14.1 of IFEMA-Feria de Madrid – fashion show attendees, press and online visitors, including a further 4,653 people attended the shows and presentations held at various venues in the city.
During its second day, we discover one of our favorite collections, designed by Hannibal Laguna. This elegant wearable garden collection presents an exquisite runway of cocktail dresses with unique flowers details. Very feminine, refined and definitely designed to become the Centre of Attention.
These new dates gave the event greater international projection for its fashion shows, one of its priority objectives, and avoided coinciding with other fashion shows, thus attracting the interest of a greater number of buyers and foreign press. Specifically, this edition of the fashion show was attended by 40 international trade guests, representatives from top fashion outlets and distributors, and prestigious media representatives from Europe, America and Asia.
READY TO BRIGHT?
Another powerful and chic collections we discover, comes from Duyos with its LUZ (‘Emanating LIGHT’) Spring Summer 2019 collection; inspired on energetic and bright women. A collection of bright fabrics, palettes, metallic threads and gentle colors such as ice green or gold versus bold colors such as ink blue.
THE ECO-FRIENDLY COLLECTION
The ‘Juanjo Oliva x Ecoembes’ collection has made him think about his position in the fashion industry as an actor, a brand and a designer. This collection explores the new possibilities that are opening up for us through research into new fabrics and materials developed using sustainable processes, by studying every possibility to find the beauty they seek in their collections.
Manuel García, the brand’s creative director, delves into his memories to bring back the pure light of summer, offering us raw linens, wild silk, grosgrain, glossy cotton, stripes and sailor nets. Pastel shades and glowing colors, white, lemon yellow, his favorite childhood color, sand, coral, turquoise, sky and navy blue. An intimate, experimental collection. #MBFWMadrid
